We would like to inform you now about our MPI Day 2026, which will take place on June 9 August NEW DATE!! August 26, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The day is mainly planned as a skills bazaar and thrives on many of you sharing your knowledge, experiences, and skills with others. We are looking for offers from employees, also in teams of two.
How is the day structured?
- Start with a 30-minute entertaining presentation of research by our directors
- Followed by the skills bazaar with 3 slots of 45 minutes each
- Finally, everyone is invited to a joint lunch
Organization & Registration
- Please provide feedback on your course offerings by 13 March 2026 via registration link below
- Registration for the courses will start in mid-March on this indico page.
What kind of offerings are we looking for?
- Anything that could be exciting, helpful, or inspiring for colleagues
- e.g., workshops, hands-on sessions, or interactive formats on topics such as
* IT & digital tools (e.g. Git, Python, AI for Dummies, Inkscape, LaTeX/Typst)
* Scientific work (grant writing & proposal design, reproducibility of computer experiments)
* Science communication (e.g. science communication hackathon, presenting & storytelling)
* Laboratory demonstrations (discovering collaborations/synergies, etc.)
* Career & personal development (career paths outside academia, imposter syndrome & resilience)
* Soft skills & collaboration (intercultural communication, teamwork, Collabora in Nextcloud)
* Everyday life & organisation & exercise and balance (basics of income tax in Germany, naturalisation, sports activities)
