Hands on Workshop on „Good Scientific Practic" on Tuesday, 15 September 2026 from 9 am to 4 pm.
We look forward to broad participation from different groups and perspectives: lab technicians, group data officers, PhD students, postdocs, group leaders — everyone is welcome, and registration is needed until Sept 8, 2026!
Afterwards, everyone will receive a certificate of participation!
What is it about?
Designed for early-career researchers and all those involved in scientific work, the workshop aims to strengthen awareness of ethical standards and promote a culture of integrity across the research process.
Why participate?
- Ensure compliance: Understand the rules and standards (e.g. DFG Code of Conduct) required in the German research system.
- Protect your research: Learn best practices for documentation, data management, and archiving to make your work reproducible and defensible.
- Avoid pitfalls: Recognize and prevent misconduct such as plagiarism, data manipulation, or questionable research practices.
- Strengthen your career: Good scientific practice is essential for publishing, collaboration, and long-term academic credibility.
- Handle conflicts confidently: Get to know support structures (e.g. ombudspersons) and how to act in difficult situations.
In short: it helps you produce reliable, transparent, and trustworthy research—and avoid costly mistakes.
